Ze versloeg daar onder andere de nasleep van de aanslagen op 11 september 2001; op de dag zelf zat ze toevallig in een vliegtuig richting New York.</li><li style="margin: 0px 0px 12px; padding: 0px; list-style: disc; padding-inline-start: 4px;">Verslaggeving: Gedurende haar 33-jarige carrière was ze een bekend gezicht voor buitenlandse verslaggeving. Zo was ze ook aanwezig bij de val van de Berlijnse Muur in 1989.</li><li style="margin: 0px 0px 12px; padding: 0px; list-style: disc; padding-inline-start: 4px;">Pensioen: Ze ging in januari 2022 met pensioen, waarbij ze een warm afscheid kreeg van haar collega's op de redactie.&nbsp;</li></ul>Hendrikx wordt herinnerd als een icoon van de Vlaamse televisiejournalistiek en een wegbereider voor vrouwen in de sectorWij wensen de familie , collega’s en vrienden heel veel sterkte toe.
